One thing true about life is change, so let’s move our own cheese. If you haven’t read Who Moved My Cheese by Spencer Johnson go get it.
Although change isn’t always hard, it can be if you’re someone that needs to be in control. Sometimes we decide it’s time to change, usually when we hit lows, continue to get the same results. Other times change is forced on us.
So let’s stay ready so we don’t have to get ready!
Here why challenges are great!
First what is a challenge you may ask? A challenge is a set of out the box goals you've decided to go for, for an extended period of time. For example, deciding to go beyond dry January and do a dry quarter, with nuggets of things you want to include, move away from, or simply become consistent in. A challenge to say, have a dry quarter without limiting yourself to meet ups with friends or family. Going about your usual activities and not neglecting the people you love and want to see because they may be drinking or doing things you’ve set aside for a period of time.
Yes its hard but that’s a challenge.
You set the rules, things you know that will help you;
The idea is not to quit if you fall short but to decide to do better and continue on with the challenge you’ve set. That’s not to say we should make excuses, rather to say don’t punish yourself just know you can do better and hold yourself accountable to do so.
Challenges are great for everyone, 30-days fitness challenge, 15-days eating clean challenge, no smoking for 30 days, no social media for 30 days, a 2 weeks challenge, you name it, you set the parameters and off you go. Don’t just do things you do naturally on a day to day set 5 must dos every day for a period of time and watch how you feel and think once you’ve completed it.
Setting goals then challenging yourself is a game changer. Thank me later 😊
